Description In attempt to catch the New Year spirit, I have quicketched Russian Santa, Grandfather Frost who's in Russian called Ded Moroz. I've overgrown the concept of him being a good fluffy granddaddy in a red robe; I find Moroz The Brutal Spirit of Winter much more exciting (like in Rimsky-Korsakov's famous opera 'The Snow Maiden'). And... have you ever encountered the Russian winter? How can anything good even dwell in here?

Happy New Year, everyone!

Wow, the idea of Santa as a cold and wintery force is fascinating. This is such a beautiful piece of art - he looks so weathered, and I love the patterns on the rim of his hat, and those eerie pale eyes... Stunning work, as ever!

Что-то вспомнились мерзнущие в 1812 году наполеоновские солдаты))
