Description
The protagonist of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Oil on canvas board. Completed 4/8/06 for my Painting I class. The ear on the right is cropped off a little, and the colors aren't exact (as with all my other traditional work, basically). And if you're thinking he looks a bit like Christian Bale during his skinnier days, that's because I looked at several pictures of him as a reference

A great portrait of Raskolnkov. I'm reading Crime and Punishment, and I love this character. The way you paited him really suggests Raskolnikov's psychology and torment. I expecially love his gaze, it's so deep. Also, beautiful colors :]

Eurgh... A lot more creepy than I imagined him. But that's still amazing. Oil always looks good! *is jealoussssss* I paint with acrylics, unfortunately... But about poor Rodya, I thought he'd be less, how'd you say this? - emaciated? Gives me the shivers... in a good way.
