The berries are at the peak of sweetness right now, so tomorrow I'm off to go berry picking, then I'll make a nice big fresh berry cobbler! These grow right on my property, after I took this shot...I ate them!

I've never seen them on a tree, ours grow wild everywhere on vines.

I had high hopes of a big fat berry cobbler, but I was only able to get about 2 1/2 cups of berries, so instead I'm going to make a white cake and serve the berries on top! I think there was a lot of hungry critters out today! I do freeze a lot and I also make jam, it's great to be able to enjoy them in the winter.

Ours peaked sometime last month I kept meaning to make something with them, but like you I always ended up eating them all instead.
How do you keep from getting pricked with the tiny needles. They hurt & I never notice I have any until later on when they start throbbing.

I wear a leather glove on my left hand to pick up the vine then I pick the berries with my right hand.

it actually tastes like the fruit used instead that flavoring
they add in the store bought ones.The only ones I've made are
freezer jams just because they take less time

I go all out when I'm making jam, so on Saturday I'll be working away in the kitchen, then in the winter I can have some on a toasted bagel with cream cheese!
