// work in progress.I`m still working on the accessories/details for the sketch itself, before colouring.
This started out as a simple sketch of a mermaid for Andrea, but the more I worked on it, the more I took a liking to it.
And so the mermaid became a rusalka because of her pulling me into the drawing, and "forcing" me to elaborate on it <3
In Slavic/Russian folklore, a rusalka is a mermaid-like demon/succubus, who mesmerizes men by singing and dancing, eventually leading them into their watery grave.
