Description When I walked through the old ruin of the "Fritz-Eckert-Heim" in Germany, I spend quite a lot of time just on starring through this broken window. Even though the grey inside is filled with many graffitis, nothing surprised and fascinated me more than the pure, vibrant green of nature from this perspective. It let me thinking about a lot of topics. Of course, one of my favourite ones: Protection of the environment. But I think I bothered you enough with this, so I would like to talk about the second thought:

Will humans ever be able to destroy nature?

Today, this question seems easy to answer and many ones would say: "We already destroy the nature." I personally belonged to this side. I wanted to encourage other people to care more about their ecological footprint and tried to live more sustainable by myself and I still think that this is an important step in our history - you may argue about the existence of climate change, but it's no mystery that one day, oil reservoirs will be empty, it's no mystery that we kill the diversity in animal life and it's no mystery that we can't just fill up the soil, which our food grows on, and rivers, which water we need, with chemical substances. We need to to live ecofriendly. But why exactly? Of course, people used to say: "To save the animals! To save the plants! To save our planet!" Let's be honest: Are we really doing it for nature, or for ourselves? Because, when we look back in the history of our planet, we can clearly see that Mother Nature regenerates itself from whatever may weaken it. In dinosaur times, when the asteroid maybe hit the Earth. Even before, when maybe a gamma ray burst erased almost all life. And in more modern times, when beautiful land is created on volcanic stone. Or, according to the old ruin this picture was taken in, when nature takes back what belongs to it.
That leads me to the conclusion that we're maybe trying to save the world like we know it and to save mankind. The nature can be weakened, changed, but not destroyed, the only event able to change that would be something that tears apart our whole planet, maybe like a black hole spontaneously popping up or when our source of life explodes - the sun. But besides that, nature will always find a way.

I really love this. I love the gloomy gray frame and how it surrounds the vibrant green of the trees. You really have a stunning photo here.

Thank you very much, for the favourite and the comment I have to say that I also like it a lot. I wasn't sure if the colour of the greenery might be too vibrant but now that I hear from you that it creates the contrast I hoped for I'm relieved.

You are very welcome. X3 It really is a wonderful shot.

I know what you mean when you describe that worry, though. I have a photo that is yet to be posted that looked great while editing, but looking back on it, I feel that the green of the plant in it may be a bit too vibrant.
