Description This was an attempt to illustrate a scene from Chapter 31 of my fanfic "King of Shadows, Queen of Light."
Arrighan, my protagonist spends the night at the Halls of Justice before her trial of combat and is visited by several people, last of them being Casavir, Paladin of Tyr, who offers to fight in her stead.

“Let me fight him. “ His rough whisper broke through my sobs. “Let me fight him for you, my lady.” “What?” I pulled back a little. "“If you would permit it…lease… let me be the answer to his crimes. Let me make him pay for your tears and anguish, my lady, my…” He shook his head and buried his face in my hair. “lease.” he whispered. His heartbeat was like pounding hooves under my face."

Beautiful and very emotional. Great job.

Thank you; that was the nth render of the scene I was finally OK with, and indeed it was the expressions that finally made me feel like I was done.

I read the chapter the render was from, and I must say, you captured that scene beautifully. Well done .

Wow, I love the expressions. They are so serene and yet...I don't know why I get a sense of desperation when Casavir is looking at Arrighan. Still, she is beautiful, and the hair isn't as bad as you claim. I'm writing a book and attempted animation using a bit of software from my brother (shudders) Point being, you have nothign to worry about. I love it just the way it is.

Thank you, dear... yes, that desperation is part of the emotions that supposed to be there at that particular moment. ::beams:: Glad it worked.

And the hair is OK for Cas, I suppose, but one of these days, I'll just have to have it even better.

Hey, you did animation! Awesome. You're a better woman that I am...that's one territory I haven't quite ventured out yet. Maybe next year...

Animation purely because I seemed to have inherited some of my brother's electronic skills. And as for woman? My friend I am just entering my freshman year of highschool when summer is over! Though I appreciate you assuming otherwise. Regardless, yes, your work is fantastic, as is your story.

::sigh:: I am SO glad you like it; that's like the 10th render on that scene. And I STILL need to fix Casavir's hair, it's all over the place. Dynamic hair is a PAIN.
::sheepish look:: I don't suppose you have any advice to offer on that?

Well, I have to admit that I haven't spend too much time with the dynamic hair so far, since it's way easier to work with already finished products.

There are some finished hairs in the Poser hair library, and I think all Poser 6 and 7 male hairs should fit the Simon figure (are you working with Simon? ).

Personally, I work with Victoria and Michael from Daz Studio most of the time, but that's a different story.

I found that looking at the Poser hairs can give you a nice feel where to place the main hair, but as I said, I haven't much experience with that so far.

But I bet that there are many tutorials out there to help you out - you'll work it out soon enough, I'm certain!

And just a little hint - when you answer me via the "Reply" button on my post, I can see right away whether you've written me an answer or not... so I won't miss one of your comments.

::beams:: Thank you!! I actually found that the bone structure of James G2 works much better for Casavir--I had a Simon hair on him earlier and it looked rather dorky. This was based on one of the P6 James hairs, and it's OK, but looks a bit too strand-y some places. I did the tutorials, but it still takes ages to simulate the hair flow and style it. Eh well, just means patience and eventual upgrade of computer so processing time is faster. I SO don't have patience.

I know what you mean about patience... that's why I upgraded my PC a few weeks back, and the difference is amazing.

The only problem is - the render level of your artworks will grow right along with the PC's capability, so even my new QuadCore gets almost to his knees at some times... ah, well.

Kaana--oooh, Quad Core. I saw your journal entry and was mighty envious. Maybe for Christmas--I need to be VERY nice to The Husband...

Well, I learned that it always pays off to be VERY nice to The Husband, especially if you want him to help with the re-install process.

I can only recommend a QuadCore to every Poser user - it definitely reduced the render time noticeably, and that's always a good thing (patience, you know?).

I'll keep my fingers crossed that he'll buy you a nice gift for Christmas.

Lovely!

I think you did a very good job with the lighting here, and their pose just says it all. A moving piece to a very moving scene!
