Conformation: Overall, very good. Slightly bouncy in the trot though, can be prone to shortening his stride and requires some stretching to really loosen up his shoulders.

Rides: Easy to ride if you have confidence, but a bit Jekyll and Hyde sometimes. Can get a bit full of himself and likes to rush, but a calm, soft hand can bring him back fairly easily. Dislikes a strong contact and will throw his head sharply if he feels constricted. His flip side is lollopy and lazy, expecting his rider to do all of the work and hold him together, especially if he knows it's flatwork day. Once a bond has been established though, he will move through thought more than movement, and becomes a true partner.
Jumping is his favourite, and despite his huge body, he's quite a careful, neat and tidy jumper, although he will rush over things he deems too small to notice. Unless you can be firm, bounces become spreads, for example.

Personality: He's very good at what he does and he knows it; he expects you to know it and award him the respect he feels is due. Generally fairly easy to handle on the ground, although can get a bit headstrong if excited (or hungry). He's very particular about everything, preferring his food to be just so, and every piece of tack or blanketing must be clean and wrinkle free, or it's coming off. If things aren't done in the order he expects them to be done, he can become a little fractious and nippy. Despite this, he has no fear of water, mud or general filth, and happily wallows whenever possible, safe in the knowledge that his servants will clean him whenever he desires it.

Does not like to be led into confined spaces (his stable, small horseboxes) but will go in by himself if he's pointed in the right direction. Very courageous, especially with the right rider, never refuses a jump even if it could be to his detriment. If he's asked, he'll probably do it. Loves bananas.
