Admiring From Afar (Tendou Satori x Reader) Part 3/4

Lesson finished rather quickly and concluded with the teacher collecting in your homework, which you proudly presented to him, and then being given even more homework to complete by tomorrow. With a heavy sigh you got up out of your seat, packed your things away into your bag and walked towards the classroom entrance where your ‘friend’ was waiting for you. You shot them a glare and they smiled awkwardly knowing that you were still annoyed at them for leaving you earlier.

They were just about to apologise when a lanky broad figure stepped out in front of them, blocking your view,

“(You Name)-Chan!”

You looked up at Tendou with wide, surprised eyes, while he beamed a friendly smile down at you.

With a quick step he had moved behind you and gently placed a large hand at the small of your back, which he used to push you out of the classroom whilst blabbering on about boring his previous lesson had been. You looked over at your friend for help while you were being pushed by the red haired giant, but they just gave you a half smile, shrugged and watched you being dragged away by the happy volley ball player.

Tendou eventually stopped pushing you and instead ended up walking by your side both in rhythm with each other’s step. He didn’t stop talking, not even for a second- he had started telling you about his volley ball practice from last night, a loose casual smile hung across his lips as he talked about his team. You nodded every so often to show him that you were listening but you didn’t know a lot about volley ball, only that he was in the school’s team and that he was apparently very good player.

“Hey (Your Name)-chan~”, Tendou cooed as he hung an arm around your shoulders and pulled you closer, “You should come see me after school during practice!” He exclaimed happily with a big grin.

You gently shook off his arm and with a flushed expression tried telling him that you didn’t it would be a good idea and that you really shouldn’t intrude on practice, but of course he didn’t listen,

“(Your Name)-Chan, if you don’t come to practice at the end of the school day”, He lowered his face down closer to your level, his warm breath softly tickling your nose, and whispered in a deep voice,

“I’ll come and find you~”

Those words caused you so freeze on the spot and quiver slightly as a deep pleased hum vibrated through his chest and his sinister gaze sent cold, claw like shivers down the back of your spine. After a few long moments of having large, menacing eyes stare you down you looked at your feet and squirmed uncomfortably under his watchful glare.

Tendou stood back up straight at his full height, towering over you and making you feel smaller then you already were. His eyes softened and he gave you a big toothy smile before ruffling your hair playfully and waving good bye, as he took long strides towards his own lesson.

You quickly shuffled into your classroom and sat down in your seat, letting your bag drop to the floor and your shoulders relax. You thought over what had just happened and then face palmed the desk, letting out a quiet disgruntled sigh as you accepted your fate and concluded that you’d have to go to the gym after school.

The rest of the day passed very slowly until the final bell rang out throughout the large building, signalling the end of the school day. You were slouched in your seat, dreading where you’d have to go next but eventually managed to pull yourself up, gather your things and toss them in your bag, then leave the class room with sluggish slow steps.

You wondered around the school grounds until you found the gym, the sound of squeaking shoes and loud voices could be heard from where you were standing. You slowly walked up to the open gym door, took a deep breath and quickly poked your head inside to see if you could see the distinctive tall player with his spikey locks of red.

As soon as you peeked inside the gym a loud cheery voice sang out,

“(Your Name)-Channnnnnn!~”

You looked to the left to see Tendou running over to you with long arms help open; once he was close enough he wrapped his pale, toned arms around you, picking you up and squeezing you into a quick hug before placing you back down on the ground. A light pink blossomed on your cheeks after he released you from the embrace, and when you noticed the rest of the team looking at you both the light blush dusting your cheeks turned into a deep crimson.

He looked down at you with a small smile and then chirped,

“Thank you for coming (Your Name)-Chan”, he leant down a little closer towards you with his nose almost touching yours and whispers in a sickly sweet tone,

“It was the right choice~”

He gave you a thumbs up and then jogged back over to his team whilst you awkwardly went to sit on the one of the benches nearby so you could watch them practice. You spent the whole session gawking at how amazing they all looked whilst playing, you couldn’t believe how incredibly strong and talented each and every player was.

When practice came to an end and the team left it was dark outside, the silver moon was silently sailing across the clear night sky as you leant against the gym wall waiting for Tendou. He was the last to leave, as he was unfortunately the one who got picked to put the net and equipment away. Once you were both out of the gym Tendou looked at you with a smile and asked excitedly,

“So what did ya think? I’m a good player right (Your Name)-Chan?~”

You nodded your head and stuttered out a yes,

“Y-You’re a very good player Tendou”, hearing this caused Tendou’s smile to stretch from ear to ear but it suddenly wavered when you added on,

“A-And so is the tall scary looking guy….Ushijima is his name I-I think? H-He’s so strong and tall a-and intimidating! No wonder he’s your ace!”

As you continued to talk about Ushijima, Tendou’s smile twisted into a bitter scowl as he listened to you praises his team mate. Annoyance was clear on Tendou’s face, and he felt a rage growing in the pit of his stomach.

Before you could react he lashed out a large hand and grabbed your wrist tightly, squeezing it with his long fingers to the point that it hurt a little. You looked up at him with large, scared (Eye colour) eyes that began to water from the stinging pain of the grip, but his deep ruby orbs held no sympathy; only a sharp dangerous glint and a threatening glow that was amplified by the darkness surrounding you both.

“(Your Name)”

His voice was smooth but deep and laced with a vivid anger,

“Do you find Ushijima attractive?”

He asked in the most serious tone you’ve ever heard. His eyes had narrowed when the words left his mouth and his grip somehow tightened even more. You were so scared you couldn’t speak so instead you meekly shook your head as tears pricked in the corners of your eyes.
Not too long after shaking your head, Tendou let go of your now red and bruising wrist and seemed to instantly revert back to his normal happy self,

“Good!~”, he beamed happily before gently wiping a small tear from the corner of your eye with his thumb.

“Come on (Your Name)-Chan~ I’ll walk you home!”

He stood up straight and nodded his head in the direction of the exit and waited for you to start walking before he followed. The walk home consisted of him talking about TV, his like and dislikes and basically him blabbering on about different things, with you occasionally nodding your head or quietly answering the occasional question in a shaky voice.

You didn’t know what to think of Tendou, he was so sweet and silly at times but then so strange and scary at others. He confused you, you couldn’t tell if you felt safe or in danger around him and you didn’t like it- But you knew it didn’t matter if you liked it or not, Tendou wasn’t going to leave you alone unless HE wanted to.

You eventually made it home and before Tendou left he gave you another surprise hug. This one was softer and lasted longer than the previous one, but not too long that it got awkward. He slowly let go of you and then waved Good bye, whilst you quickly shuffled into your house. As soon as you got in you flicked off your shoes and dropped your bag near them, then went to upstairs and fell face first into your bed.

You were so tired from today’s events that you passed out the moment your head hit the soft pillows.
