Description

Tackle44 was my first large canvas attempt in the football direction, to see if my style/method would work in this type of theme.  It was done primarily in oils and a variety of oil mediums, using a time consuming "layering" blend style/technique with paint over paint.  The blending was done by using either a small brush or sometimes my finger, to build on the layer(s) below.  The time aspect was lengthy, due to requiring the paint to totally dry between each layer or overlapping color.  If you look closer or enlarge this picture, you will see quite a bit of texture, both in paint and from the canvas showing through.  You will also see a multi colored "windows" in the same spot, again due to the layer on layer technique I use.

My works and style are unique, but the end product is stunning.  Please enjoy this great sports piece and check out my other works, both illustrations and other painting, on my site.  Thank you!

thank you, this was my first real "study" in the football theme with my type of style, to see if works.  I now have a very large 40 by 60 canvas almost done with 5 football players all going after a fumble, already pretty intense!!

Dear Fredric, you should remember that English is not my native language, so it's hard for me to understand all the slang and abbreviations that you use. Would you please translate your previous message in normal (academic) English?

Sorry, that will be no problem.  I have had surgery on my wrist, so I will be typing with one hand for a while, and will not be keeping up with my correspondence and communication with DV on a regular basis.  I had to read Tol. during college for one of my courses, and pretty much fell a sleep couple of times while reading it.  MET and MMA are both very large and well known museums in New York City.
