That is so nice to hear!

Moving from PA to CT has taken all my time lately, I hope to do some new collages soon

Always waiting to see more! WHere are you moving to in CT? I used to live in the NW corner, in Torrington.

Wait, what? You used to live in Torrington? WE used to live in Torrington! We lived on Grove Street and then on a little street off Hillside Ave.

In 2004 we moved to Pennsylvania. Now we are in Stamford, it's where our younger son and his wife and their two little boys live.

We liked Torrington in a lot of ways. We had good doctors and dentists... and Roma Pizza up on High Street. Boy, they had good pizza.

I love how your collages grow from abstract to a form and then back out again.

Hey, Richard! How goes it, Senior Blues? What is your main goal by working in the abstract?

RichardLeach In reply to hell-on-a-stick [2014-11-07 23:46:18 +0000 UTC]

Going well, my friend, thanks. With extra intensity because we are moving from PA to CT in two weeks (better work environment for my wife and closer to our grandchildren).

Ah, good question. I work in the abstract because I can put aside the intellectual and logical considerations that are such a big part of (my) life and just go by feeling, and I enjoy the heck out of that. No stories, no ideas, no morals! (They may sneak in anyway but I seldom put them there on purpose.) That's just from my side, though - my goal for the work is that I have that kind of good time making it, and the viewers find that the pieces speak to them somehow. They can say whatever they want!

We are okay here, the forecast was dire and the governor closed down the state but then the worst part of the storm went north and east of us. But there is another storm coming tonight, we are supposed to get heavy snow and ice as well. We watch the forecast, get groceries and plan to spend the day indoors and off the road - my wife telecommutes, very luckily - neither of us has to go out when the driving is bad. Best wishes to copperrein in her new place!
