Love this abstracted view with its reflective depth...the seemingly banal attitude of resting pedestrians
checked out the structure/architect....wow
this man is so in love with the curve and line....and a retractable skylite!
What is interesting in your photo is that the reflected building is very much like the Oculus....exposed structural elements with fenestration between. Calatrava's design departs from traditional square/plumb allowing for a more expressive presentation. Less efficient/utilitarian, more artistic...exponentially more expensive.
Oh... yes... I see this structure has its critics (for cost overruns and aesthetics). Always there will be critics. My take...the "dove" is a masterpiece. Thanks for bringing it to my atttention

Hey Mark, thanks for looking up Calatrava and for the comments. I agree, a masterpiece. I was down at the tip of Manhattan yesterday on an errand and I went out of my way on the way back uptown just to see the Oculus from outside and in. Well worth it.
