The brain needs to be peopled by people! Otherwise, what would we do with ourselves?

Right, it's either that or isolation, the choice should be clear!

Peopled with others of course. What else, in the brain? Do you think that some people's brain could be not peopled with peoples?

Yes, everyone's is. The interesting question is who is in there and what the influence or relation is. If the word "so" were missing this piece would be saying less, I think. "So" does not answer the questions of course, but it raises them.

Maybe the reality is different. Maybe there is a missing piece between "so" and "others", for example "so-called others" while in the reality, our brain is full of relation, not others, really the link rather than what it links to. Like altruism develops to satisfy the altruist's mind, maybe relation with others is just a way for the brain to interconnect because it is satisfying to be connected.

That's a very astute observation - mixing philosophy and neuroscience. Are you a student of one or the other or both of these disciplines, JD?

My brain is peopled, too. *SIGH*

Can someone get them the hell outta there?!

I like the line from the Talking Heads song - "There's a party in my mind - and I hope it never stops" - but quieting down from time to time wouldn't hurt anything!

Quiet can be very, very nice.

Your brain is peopled so that others can .... what?

RichardLeach In reply to LancelotPrice [2011-11-09 21:07:54 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's one question - also, which others are they exactly?

All?

Well, my own brain is more peopled by certain others than certain other others. But as for the cat in the collage - I am not sure I know what is up with his brain.
