Thanks A very lucky scrap find for background, then I had to figure out what to do with it.

I had to do a double-take to make sure it was yours. It has a different feel to it.

I thought so too - all that bright color.

Do you mind if I ask which part of it is the tape transfer? (I'm fascinated by transfers and although I understand that a tape transfer is a simple one, I have never tried it).

Not at all. It's the small area in the upper right corner that is grayer than the rest and has black ink in it. Most of the tape is clear. This was deliberately added to the piece, but it was made accidentally when I was doing a transfer for something else - I liked the suggestion of a mouth by the black marks so I cut it off the larger piece of tape and saved it.

Tape transfer IS very simple. Press it down and pull it up, there will be different results depending on whether your subject is newsprint or glossy magazine paper. You can wash the cellulose off the back to get nothing but the ink image if that's what you need, usually I leave it on - it depends.

and I use mostly Scotch packing tape - or Scotch magic tape for small transfers.

With the regular pages, the magazine section, and the "T" style section - there's always something worth ripping up

thanks very much! yes, that's right about the colors - some wonderful weather-altered street scrap found on a walk is the background.

you were right about the focus, the card had buckled a little bit. i rescanned it with a book pressing it down... not sure it's all better though.
