Description This drawing was inspired by an annual ceremony (also called the Fisherman's Feast) held in Boston's North End, an Italian neighborhood. In this ceremony, a Madonna-&-Child statue is paraded through the streets. Then two young girls, dressed as angels (these are the Side Angels), stand at opposite balconies and recite blessings in Italian. Then another young girl, also dressed as an angel (this is the Flying Angel), is suspended on ropes over the street and recites another blessing in Italian. The girls in this drawing are from the anime Girls Und Panzer: Anchovy (top) as the Flying Angel, with Pepperoni (bottom left) and Carpaccio (bottom right) as the Side Angels. I picked them because I felt that these were the anime girls that best represented Italy. I don't know what the Italian blessings are (they aren't written down anywhere, and neither are their English translations), so I included the Hail Mary prayer in Italian. On the day I went to that ceremony, I gave a copy of this drawing to a woman who was selling T-shirts of it. She told me her granddaughter was the Flying Angel!
