CAPS, the Cartoon Art Professional Society is putting together an auction where 100% of the proceeds will go to Stan Sakai and his wife, Sharon, to pay their on-going medical expenses. Stan's wife Sharon has been battling a debilitating illness for a while that has included a long hospital stay and convalescence. She is home now but needs 24-hour care and medication and its more than their insurance covers. Stan is the creator of Usagi Yojimbo and as such, he is now dealing with the pitfalls of doing creator-owned comics. CAPS is asking for fellow cartoonist and comic book artists to contribute original artwork to the cause and I wanted to help out. During my "sketch a day" time, I drew Usagi Yojimbo and decided to rework it a bit and color it. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out and I hope this helps to raise some money for Stan and Sharon.
