Tell me about it. I'm a big fighting game fan and do enjoy a lot of the "new character" reveal trailers games like Killer Instinct have done. I'd love nothing more than to be able to create one for each of my OCs as a way to help introduce them and show off who they are and what they can do. Hell, making a fighting game with my roster is something I'd love to do if I ever got the chance. As you said though, such animation requires a lot of time and for now these scenes will have to stay in our imaginations.

For fighting games there is the possibility of doing mods now that they are making more of them for PC. I don't know how much work that needs, but it's probably a lot less than doing a game from scratch.

Possibly, though I'm not sure if I can think of a fighting game character who'd capture the way I intend for my character to stand and act in combat.

That is difficult. From your characters that I know, most have weapons, so I think a game like Soul Calibur would work best. The adaptation would not be perfect but it is something.

Possibly, but as you said, the adaptation wouldn't be perfect.
Interestingly I did create some of my OCs using the Soul Calibur III campaign and character creation mode.

In games where I can make my own characters I often do my own version of Ariel, specially if I can make some sort of wizard. I consider them to be "parallel world" versions of Ariel. So yes, they are not perfect but they are how she was born in a world with different rules.

I do think that's a good mentality to have, as it helps "get over" the limitations that a character creator offers,Β and arguably better than mine. I can be very picky about it myself, often feeling a representation that isn't 100% is not good enough. I remember Soul Calibur 4 and 5 greatly reduced the amount of weapon options for CAC which sucked in my opinion as a lot of the ones from 3 were unique, creative and generally more interesting. The "wave sword" in particular was a personal favourite of mine and one I've been meaning to pay tribute to with one of my OCs.
