Description
This one started pretty simple: a close-up of Ariel's face.But then I decided it would be appropriate to draw Ariel in her medium. As some of you may know, she is a wizard, so this is what she does. Sitting in her lab, reading arcane literature, trying to find the ultimate secrets of the multi-verse...
So yeah, drawing a background is a pain in the ass >_<
But I did it
(It's worth noting that to the uninitiated eye, the writings on her books are random traces... but they are not, they are very hard to decipher codes, they keep secrets of great power hidden in their meaning...)
I'm almost done with the colours, so I think now I can upload the lines. You can colour them yourself if you feel like it, just let me know.

Since I'm not a paying member of DA I can't write a formal critique but... Since I've been watching you on DA for a long time, I'll give you a mini-critique! XD I love the lines in this drawing, and I think you did a fabulous job on the background. There are just two things in this that bug my eye a little, and thats that the book that she is reading, where her arm goes over top of the book, it looks like you should be able to see the edges of the book on the other side of her arm... And he clothes don't match this atmosphere for me... Im not sure why, but it just seems like she's just chilling at home in her night shirt or something. But over all I love this and I think it's one of my favorite drawings of Ariel. ^_^

About the book you are right. In fact I did try to draw it on the other side, but I could never make it look right. I hoped nobody would notice... but that never happens
As for the night shirt, that is intentional. She is working on her lab at home, so she is just wearing something comfortable.
But without that information I see why it seems weird

lol... Your welecome... And yeah, I know what you mean about the book.. I do things like that all the time, and once that empty space is there, it seems impossible to fill in. I wonder why that is? o.0 Oh well, It's a great drawing, and the coloring you did is great too! XD Hope to see more from you soon!
