I was totally blown away by the artwork of the Scarab series when I first found it on the shelves. Been a huge fan ever since.

Definitely agree with Dustin, here. I think this would stand out easily amongst the traditional 'big fight' or 'dramatic pose' covers that are so prevelant these days.
Somehow, it reminds me of the Jim Lee/Giuseppe Camuncoli (sp?) covers for the Intimates, and I'm not entirely certain why. Possibly something to do with the composition being rather central and that the negative space is really quite skillfully used.

Thanks, man! The cover to #4 is the one most people had the strongest reaction to; a lot of people really loved that one. So, of course, I don't have a scan of it, haha. *laughs through tears*

aw man, i love this cover, i remember seeing it when it was on newsstands, during a time when unique covers were hard to find.
