2 Years old but maybe this will help someone, you Right Click the slideshow widget and then "Edit Skin" and find Path and replace "#Path #" with the path you want it show pictures from.

It looks but it crashed my pc (win 8.1). It caused a black screen and I had to restore from boot. Be aware!!!
