Description
Another gift for yet another colleague leaving the lab.Unfortunately I could not find the pose reference (I based it on an old sketch that was made on some picture from the web), the details were again from some private pics (these jays sit right in front of our office window!)

Ah, the Eurasian jay is so beautiful, even though its "singing" voice doesn't sound so appealing.
I still remember this encounter with one jay on a familiar forest trail: it was like the bird came to say "hello!".
Thus, this deviation is totally 'd!

This is fantastic, beautiful composition of colours and a most lovely subject. Definitely one of my favourite birds in Germany, among with the kingfisher, the raven and the magpie.

Indeed, it has all these subtle colors with one bright blue accent. They have a cute soft croak, too.
