Lady of Twilight. She is the beacon that the Dunmer must follow in these dark days.

No, don't follow Azura! come on, might be a rather "good" Daedra she's still a caprioucious little princess and the very one that turned the Chimer into the Dunmer (just because of the Tribunal, because of 3 guys breaking their promise to her Nerevar champion!)
She can't be trusted... (I still haven't done her quest in Skyrim...)

PunkRoctorok In reply to noxfoxArts [2012-01-17 20:23:21 +0000 UTC]

They betrayed her and Nerevar! They had it coming. But still she is their one true hope at rebuilding.

noxfoxArts In reply to PunkRoctorok [2012-01-18 19:47:28 +0000 UTC]

Come on, Vivec, Almalexia and Sotha Sil took the decision to betray him on their own. The rest of the Chimer surely didn't even know about the promise, they just got the curse right in their face without understanding why it happened and then the Tribunal said it was a divine blessing and all to cover themselves! Azura acted like the capricious little princess she is and because she felt betrayed, she betrayed the whole Chimer even more, nananere!
Regarding rebuilding I'd rather turn to Boethiah and Mephala to get back to Vvardenfell and backstab back the Argonians. I wonder if they brought some Hists to Morrowind..?

Well the Argonians were enslaved for centuries. Poor guys, I remember em from Morrowind. Still, I think it sucks the Dunmer lost their homeland. I loved Morrowind, so rich in culture. But idk, I still think Azura is good. She has a conflicted past with her people, but will still be there for them through it all.

I would say she'll always be there for sure since she's a Daedra and so immortal... unless.. unless her concept changes and so she would not be Azura anymore but something else. Like what happened to Jyggalag But I will not criticize your faith^^
If you enjoy the Daedra you might like this [link] it's a Dunmer conjurer's view on them and an attempt to briefly explain their character

Idk, what the fuck happened with the greymarch and whatever? ah well, maybe we'll figure out eventually. And what exactly is this book thing?

noxfoxArts In reply to PunkRoctorok [2012-01-23 21:07:08 +0000 UTC]

At first Sheogorath didn't exist as we know him, he was first born as Jyggalag, the prince of order. But his power and dangerous behavior grew the other princes jealous and fearful so they cursed him to change him into his antithesis: Sheogorath, prince of madness. This Another Book of Daedra sums it as "[Sheogorath] being the suffering expressed in all forms with no limits in the creativity of this expression in opposition to Jyggalag being the suffering repressed in one unique form of order."
The Greymarch is a twist in the curse allowing Jyggalag to resurface at the end of every era and reconquer the Shivering Isles, his Daedric realm. However though he reconquers it doing so triggers the curse back and turns him again into Sheogorath. At the end of the 3rd era Sheogorath tried to stop the circle by allowing a champion to defeat Jyggalag and take the position of Sheogorath so Jyggalag would not be victorious and turn back into Sheogorath. Still it seems that Sheogorath resurfaced and we have no idea of what became of Jyggalag.

Regarding the book it's a TES book I've written among others, it's fanwork but it's still well documented and though the vision is that of a Dunmer it is still rather objective and helps to understand what are the Daedra and why they act the way they do.

Technically Azura isn't a goddess, and by far she is not the goddess of Tamriel. She is more so the daedric lord ( AKA goddess) of night and day.

In any case I love it though! Just had to throw in that little nerd fact is all.

arent the daedric lords basically just immortal gods while the divines and the other aedra are mortal? I mean granted most of the daedra are twisted and merciless but Azura and a couple of others could be counted as a god or goddess. Idk :C

Blair-Sheircome In reply to zoron246 [2013-03-24 10:48:34 +0000 UTC]

If I remember right, it's not so much they're immortal as that mortals can't wound them, it's why in oblivion akatosh's avatar had to be called on to "kill" dagon. And even after that, they can only be sent back to their planes of oblivion this way.
