She was supposed to be 14 and was in a more anatomically realistic art style for her movie; only the humans though-dwarves, animals, trees, and the evil Queen's disguise were all made to be more cartoon-y and exaggerated.

the simplicity of this makes her look that much cuter :3

Lovely! ♥ I think that Snow White was chubbier, because the movie was animated using rotoscope method (real person acted it out, they gathered the footage and drew over it every single frame if that makes sense) ^^

Yeah, I know the Rotoscope method, I liked when Disney used that technique more than nowadays with their 3d cg; The mouvement were much more natural and "alive" ><

Beauty standards were different back then. By the 1930s and 40s women began to "get over" the skinny trend of the 20s and aspired to be more feminine and curvy. Just take Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe, for example.

Disney said Snow's 14. She's the youngest princess

Walt disney never stated her age, the only source saying she's 14 is buzzfeed and buzzfeed isn't the most trustable source ever ...

The reference comes from "The Art of Walt Disney," by Christopher Finch

She may be the youngest but Disney wikia stated her age being after wikipedia which was added by someone according to P66. of the book of the Art of Walt Disney so I searched the p.66 on wikipedia ( just to stick to the same material ) and it says something about Walt Disney losing Oswlad the lucky bunny to be replaced by mickey mouse so, Wikipedia ...
Then, only seeing her stated as 14yo, people started thinking she really is but think about it :
" Would a man from the 1930s-1940s would state a 14yo as ( and I'm quoting Walt ) " Old enough to get married " ?
I won't believe she's 14yo as long as Disney won't affirm : " 14yo was considered by Walt Disney as old enough to get married. "
I still think she's minimum 16yo, much more plausible.

The problem with Disney is that they are so many things people thinks are official when they're not ... Or think Disney is the actual fairytale. Like the tragic original Little Mermaid, or the Snow Queen ( the original would have made a great movie as it is ) , or the very creepy original sleeping beauty XD

She does have a more rounder face, I at least imagine her to be anyways, sure they all wore corset like tops as well, along with dress so it's hard to say how big they really are XD

I think Eilonwy (From Black Cauldron) has a larger waist, but i think thats drawing style? It was disney, but didn't seem disney

It's not only the waist that is larger in Snow White, also the face and arms. As for Eilonwy, I don't know, I didn't realize up until now that it's a disney XD

I think her waist isnt so thin because that is the art style that was more common in the time the movie first came out.
If you look at later official disney works she has the standard thinner waist the other princesses have aswell.

i realized that too, also she is *technically* the youngest one at the age of 14, but in the original stories of all of them Pocahontas was 12 so she should be the youngest one, but in the Disney version they made her 18 because it is a bit creepy for a guy in his early 30s to be in love with a 12 year old girl, and the original story for her was actually a huge lie made up by john smith, and one of 4 stories he told of young attractive girls throwing themselves in front of him to save his life.

ya! also when snow white was made 14 was normal marriage age for most of the world. Tiana was the real start to modernized princesses, followed by the CGI ones. originally they had planned to stop making princesses after mulan, but changed there minds after 11 years where they made additions to their plans. also to this day there has been only one princess that didn't have a musical movie.
