Corona Selfie

I remember, as a child, in the fifties (!) being so fascinated by the paintings of the great artists who represented themselves. It was, under the limited visual opportunities of that time, some kind of miracle to get the data of "how" these artists looked, many of them already being passed away for a long time. Today, during the INSTAGRAM era it's quite hard to imagine this feeling.

From Rembrandt to Picasso, from Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera to Hockney and Freud, most of the big visual artists left us an immense collection of self portraits that are a genuine cultural treasury.

It results eventually that this self-reflection way of presentation conveys a lot of information regarding the interior of the artist and for sure his state of mind at a least.

Personally, I am only seldom using this way of representation that's intended in my case just as a kind of half-joke to leave some kind of evidence of my existence. One such an attempt I present here, being by myself surprised as I gave expression of my overall feeling induced by these corona scrambled times.
