Description Concentration shined bright in Ryota’s eyes. He wasn’t going to mess this up. He’d spent hours practicing, and he was most certainly not going to fail. But really, how did girls handle having all of this hair? It seemed like so much work. Then again, it was really nice to play with.
Yes, the current Seiryuu banchou was braiding hair. Yes, he had spent hours practicing on his number three. Was that so odd? Okay, maybe it was. Seiryuu kids were notoriously mean spirited and vicious. Ryota could be when he needed to, but he really didn’t like it. His brother had raised him better than that. Violence only when it was needed or something along those lines. When he was younger, he hadn’t really understood why Katsuro had told him that. After all, Katsuro was pretty violent himself and choose to hang around the most violent kid in all of Cherryhill. Why was he preaching about not hurting others?
Ryota figured it out when he was in middle school. Hurting others wasn’t something that should be taken lightly. He’d been raised to be empathetic, mostly because the person doing the raising had never had a chance to be. He’d had a strange ability to see pain in other people’s eyes even when it wasn’t physically apparent. After all, Katsuro had wanted him to have a different life than him, right? Well, not a lot could be changed because of the circumstances they were born in, but Ryota Yoshida was definitely different.
He was peaceful, doing his best to keep the rowdy Seiryuu body under control when at all possible. He rarely ever actually fought, not that he couldn’t. Ryota could certainly fight, it was in his blood. The pain and anguish in other people’s eyes often drove him away from it though.
That was exactly why when he asked his Number 3 if she would teach him how to braid hair, she laughed at first, but fully understood that her odd Banchou was being entirely genuine. So she taught him, and he learned quickly. He was skilled with his hands. Nothing less than perfection was good enough for Hana though, his former babysitter turned teacher that he was absolutely elated to be able to say he was in a relationship with. At least, in his mind. Honestly, Hana probably wouldn’t have cared if he messed up.
A few giggles escaped her lips as she glanced back and saw the concentrated, determined look on Ryota’s face. “You’re cute when you’re determined, you know that?” The black haired teen blushed a little bit, but didn’t respond. His eyes were still locked on Hana’s hair.
When he was finally done, Ryouta let out a sigh and fell back on his back, arms outstretched. “How does it look?” He asked without getting up. Hana had wandered over to the mirror, responding with “Amazing, but you still have the other half to do.”
