Description
They were close, really close, Ryan was practically on top of Eiffle actually. The first time he met the tall red head, he would have never thought that he would get anywhere near this close. Back them, he had seemed far too embarrassed for something like this to even be considered. It had taken a bit of time, but eventually the skinny blonde teen had managed to work his way into the taller boy’s life. Then again, surprisingly enough, Ryan was good at waiting when it came to these kind of things. After all, it had taken Matt nearly three months to even consider becoming friends with him, and that was more than a year ago now. His patience with people had grown considerably. The few months that he had spent getting Eiffle to trust him on just a friendly basis had been worth it.
Ryan was pulled from his thoughts as he felt his taller boyfriend pull away just a tiny bit. The immediate conclusion that the shorter of the two drew was that in his absent-mindedness he had accidentally hurt Eiffle. He muttered a quiet apology before going back to finishing up the bandaging. For the first time in his life, Ryan found himself having to be gentle with someone. It was odd, but with time he got used to it, even going as far as enjoying it. The fact that Eiffle was trusting him with something like this, something that he wouldn’t let anyone else do, only made him like the gentle intimacy even more. A small smile sat upon his face as he finished up. It wasn’t often that he was the one bandaging people up. Usually, it was others cleaning him up after bad fights.
The question came out of nowhere. Things had been completely silent. Well, Ryan had been humming a tune that he had been practicing on piano earlier, but other than that it was silent. “Hey, Ryan, how many others have there been?” While it did catch him off guard, he knew exactly what his companion was talking about. It hadn’t been the first time he had been asked a question like this one. Actually, lots of people had asked him that. He distinctly remembered a certain dark haired, golden eyed boy with glasses asking him nearly exactly the same question last year. The only real difference had been that he wasn’t actually in a relationship that time around.
“More than most, I guess. When I was younger I messed around with Trinity. You know, experimenting and what not.” He paused, recalling and realizing just how many people there actually were. There had even been someone when he spent those two weeks in Castelia. “Back home, not so many. That’s probably my parent’s fault, seeing as I was constantly grounded. Here though, quite a few things were different. There was no one to stop me from doing whatever, or I guess whoever, I wanted.”
“I did a lot with Matt last year, but there were others. Mostly just one time things. Nothing serious.” Ryan felt kind of bad about giving Eiffle the truth. He knew very well that hearing something like that could hurt someone but he had never lied before when others had asked this very same question.
“I knew about Matt. Or at least, everyone had their suspicions about what was going on.” Ryan grinned. He full well knew that most of the students who had gone to school last year all at least thought that he and Matt had some kind of relationship. People had asked him about it on multiple occasions. People had asked Matt on multiple occasions, which always provided a rather hilarious reaction from the dark haired boy. “Was it ever anything serious?” The blonde boy shook his head.
“No. He didn’t want anything serious. I actually think he was rather embarrassed about the whole ordeal.” Ryan had asked Matt about it once, after a rather long night of things that shouldn’t be done on a school campus. The younger boy had declined the offer, something that Ryan had seen coming a mile away.
Looking at Eiffle, he could tell that what he was saying was having some effect on him. It was in his eyes. He had seen it before. “Don’t be jealous, okay Eiffle?” He got even closer than he had been before, if that was even possible. “Because you’re the only one right now. Those guys in the past don’t matter.” When he closed the distance between them, he felt like a horrible person. While he was kissing him, he felt like a horrible person. When he pulled away, he felt like a horrible person even though a reassuring smile was on his face. It was a lie. Eiffle wasn’t the only person right now. He desperately wanted to be the kind of person who could stick with someone, but right now that just wasn’t who he was.
What Ryan couldn’t figure out was why he was lying to him. Hadn’t he just told him the truth about all of the different people he had been with? Why couldn’t he managed to tell him the truth about this? Deep down, he knew the answer. He wanted to change, he wanted to be able to say in all honesty that he was only with one person and that one person was Eiffle. Even he knew what the reality of the situation was though. Old habits die hard after all. Maybe someday he could say something like that, but the day wasn’t now and it wouldn’t be anywhere in the near future.
“Now come on, lets not think about things like that anymore. You’re all cleaned up and your roommate mysteriously isn’t here. There are much more fun things that we could be doing.” Distracting himself proved to be the best medication for his slight self hatred. And what better distraction than sex?
