A little tribute for the late June Foray who voiced Jokey Smurf in the cartoon series.Who also voiced Magica de Spell, Granny from Looney Tunes and Rocky from Rocky and Bullwinkle and so many more.
Since Lucille Bliss (voiced Smurfette) passed 5 years ago, I think Smurfette would certainly be the one comforting Jokey.

June Foray had a huge influential impact on my life growing up, but just because she's gone doesn't mean her spirit & legacy will be forgotten as it will live on inside our hearts, souls & memories forever more.

I remember June Foray as the voice of Grammi Gummi from Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears as well as her performances in countless Looney Tunes shorts as "Granny" or "Witch Hazel". She will be sorely missed.

She voiced SO much more than just those characters. Β In fact her talent had many saying she was the female equivalent of Mel Blanc. Β Others said Mel Blanc was the male equal of June Foray. Β I didn't know she had passed.....this is heart rending....another brilliant talent gone this year.....and this one hurts more than others because June was such an integral part of my childhood and the happy memories that came with it....just....no words. Thank you for the tribute Rina. Β Β
