Colored version! I am quite pleased with how it came out.
Character is Lucy (or Nyuu) from Elfen Lied.
Elfen Lied is one of my favorite animes, not only for its stunning artwork, but even more so for the beautifully constructed story it tells. Well worth watching. Enjoy! ♥ (But do be aware, it is extremely graphic. Don't say I didn't warn you!)
Used watercolor pencils as usual, but also highlighted the hair with brush markers.
I actually think I'm improving!
Btw, seriously think I'm going to name my kid Kouta.

Yes, I suppose you could say I'm self-taught. I took classes in painting and realistic sketching for about a year, but anime and watercolor pencils I had to teach myself. You?

How fun would that be! Although I'd say my skills are pretty average when it comes to art, it would probably be really difficult for me to make a living off of it. Plus, I'm really good at writing...I'll probably become a writer. :3

I've never actually seen the anime but this image is very well done. The minimalistic color (as the image is mostly white) doesn't distract it, somehow, compliments.
