The dynamic lighting here is fantastic! The colours on their faces really pops out, and there's tremendous visual appeal!

so many favorites but no comments that i believe this picture deserves! it's simply wonderful. i think i've seen this picture without the blood/tears but having it there just adds to it. i can't possibly describe how much i love this piece, but it also might just be because i have a bias for both karkat, terezi and.. well, the pairing in general.

I think my favourite part about this is that they actually look like they might be pre-teens! So much of the fanart depicts everyone as adults, it's just nice to see something where they're not all mature and developed. Also like Terezi's eyes and Karkat's expression, and both of their hair. I think Karkat's eyes could use a bit of emphasis on the insomniac-bags next time, though... at least I think that's what Hussie's trying to insinuate, hard to tell sometimes with the sprites...

Aww really? I always end up drawing them looking older, so it's nice to hear they might actually look the appropriate age. It's just so much fun drawing them older, even if it's wrong. Haha. Thank you <3!

I won't deny that children are really, REALLY hard to draw... for me, at least. Those little, round faces... those odd proportions... skinny little hands with still a little pudge around the middle, cheeks, and other places that will fill out later... Such strange creatures, these children! That's what I almost always think when drawing younger kids.
I guess they're not QUITE that young, though... but this picture certainly looks like the kids that I see whenever I go to catch the bus by the middle school and hey, 13-14 is middle school aged, aye?

But as someone earlier commented, this really brings emotion. I can't picture Terezi ever sobbing and being so scared; but this shows that something's up.

Oh jeeze. That's just.... *shivers* The normally hard-to-perturb Terezi freaked out and crying, that's...jeeze. Hello mood whiplash. I actually could see this happening somewhere in Homestuck, especially soon given the buildup with Terezi.
You did a great job with their expressions, and I love how all the gray and black tones just mesh together to make this dark mood that hangs over both of them. Their skin looks just natural despite being gray, and that's really nice work there.

okay but seriously, this is so gorgeous. your shading is just fantastic, especially on their hair, ears, and faces... i kind of want to marry karkat's cheek. also their hands are beautiful. argh argh argh. did i mention that the poses, expressions, and composition in general make this really moving? well they do.

As much as this makes me sad, it's really gorgeous. The style of shading you used is so cool! Especially their horns- which look more like horns and less like candy corn.
