Okay, so the Sonic Riders games aren't looked upon favorably by...pretty much anyone. And for good reason, too radical a departure from the series formula, difficult controls, and AI that cheats so bad it makes the Mario Kart AI look honest.

But those games are still special to me because they have my favorite Sonic char: Wave.

Okay yes, she's the only birdgal in the Sonicverse. But she's got plenty of other redeeming qualities as well. She's probably the smartest char in the Sonicverse, she can rival Tails in terms of engineering prowess, and she doesn't take shit from anyone.

(Oh, and she may not even be wearing a shirt. Seriously, is that a tube top or chest fluff? The world may never know.)

So when I found that someone ported the Free Riders models of the Babylon Rouges (also, they win the "coolest team name" award), I had to do something with Wave. So here she is, tearing it up on her hover...air board, whatever it's called.

To give the sense that she was going places, I added some motion blur in the picture. The technique was as follows: locking the camera to the model, animating motion, and then rendering a single frame. Voila!

So, here's Wave the Swallow. The world needs more Wave, especially more of her getting tickled. That's why I included her on the next TK-12 poll, and so far, 11 people agree with me.
