The filmmakers for Wreck-It Ralph wanted the character of King Candy to be an homage to the Mad Hatter from Disney's Alice in Wonderland. The animators and Alan Tudyk (King Candy's voice actor) did a perfect job with that!... maybe a little too perfect....
