The old one I drew nearly 4 years ago. It has a crappy resolution (submitted nearly original size). I really wonder how I could work with such a bad resolution.
I had to cut off parts of the old picture in order to make it fit the template
Good thing there wasn't anything important anyway.When I drew the new version I paid special attention to making it look 3-dimensional (the old one looks 2-dimensional) and to reinforcing the light. I really failed drawing light in the old version, even though it is one of the main elements of the picture. The rest of the image was quite well made for such an old pic and so I really wish I had handled the light better...

It's funny how with this entry thing many people aren't showing how they got better (although I'd say you are) but how they really changed their styles.

Yeah, I noticed as well. With some entrys I think the deviants chose pictures that aren't old enough so that there's simply not much to improve. Sometimes I even like the old version more than the new one.
