Ahhh its kind of a long practicing process... And thank you!
Pretty much, try making key frames. Key frames are like the... big motion you want to have happen next. Example. Your character is standing there. Well you want him to take a step forward. Draw the next frame with him already with foot on the ground. THEN go back and do the frames in between. This will help make sure your character keeps his/her shape. Do this and also, if you have a stop watch, try timing yourself. see how long it takes to get from one spot to the next. Try to time your frames out this way too. It'll help with motion and also make sure you dont go too fast or slow.
and LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF THINKING AND FIXING AND PRACTICING!
Thats the best I can explain it to you. Each person can go slower or faster, so dont take into time. Just take in the learning experience and let yourself experiment. This project took me about 2 weeks, but I didnt work on it for the entire time. It was between other classes as well. So all in all maybe 3-4 days of FULL work, and I was having some problems and ran out of paper too! haha!
Good luck!! I hope that helps some :<

FBF and traditional work in animation is definitely a fav of mine. I actively search for these type of animations [ Especially because 2d totally rules in the world of animation ]. As short as it is, it's still quite impressive. I never would have expected being pushed down by the ears XD It's incredibly cute, and you did a wonderful job with keeping the 'look' of the character

I HATE TWEEN MOTION.
UGH
It makes things look like shit in my opinion. but thats just me. Sometimes people can pull it off ok, but eehh... I love FBF so much more >< use tween ONLY For like.. background moving or something >.> grrrr... lol

I don't particularly like tween motion either... I avoid it unless I'm that incredibly lazy or I think it'll look smoother in the long run. Really depends on what's being animated, etc as well.

RinTheYordle In reply to ruakuu [2008-11-05 00:14:16 +0000 UTC]
Oh, "conflict" was the subject in class... we had to have two characters in conflict for animation... any kind of "conflict"... be it fighting, argument, tug-of-war, something of the sort, to express emotions of characters and get a feeling for a lot of the stuff we've learned in animation 8D
Thanks Ruaaaa~~ <3

8D thank you! I bet you could! It just takes lots of time and practice... and it really helps with learning and thinking about positions in space, and how to move a body physically... helps with proportions!
