There's so much wrong with this... but overall, it was a great experience and I feel Im slowly picking up some more ideas and such for coloring styles... and backgrounds to!Just gotta keep refining... Learning from my mistakes and stuff... BLAAHH *tries not to rip self apart for the mistakes in this one, lol*

So much improvement! The lighting is totally <3, and your characters are always fine-tuned and full of character. The fire is like, perfect. So hawsome.
I like how one hand is resting on his foot, but.. is he holding grass? >_> <_<

Oh yes yes he is! The idea I had in my head was he was playing with grass when his mom got all serious with him about teaching him everything she knows... So he kinda looked up and was like "woaaahhhhh"... haha.... I tried :< It didnt come out quite how I wanted but I tried none-the-less D:
I dunno if you do it, but when Im sitting in the grass I have this horrible habit of picking at it while Im listening to people talk @__@ lol

This turned out so damn amazing. The expression, the lighting, everything. I ADORE how he's sitting there playing with the grass. It just adds so much character.

I think you did a wonderful job with the lighting; Not only the fire reflected in the background, but also the shading in the characters is very acurated!
I have to agree that the mithra, for being a mother, looks too young 
Overall is a very good piece, interesting perspective and scene! Best luck in the contest!

Yeahhh I totally agree too, mom looks way too young. I tried to exagerate her features to give her a more... adult look? But it just made her look well postured, hahaha! Oh well... Live and let learn!

Ahh, very cute to see a male mithra for a change! Supposedly there were scenes of one if you chose Windurst as your nation in the past, but I chose Bastok... so I never got to see >_>;; He's very cute though! They should show the mithra men more :3

The dude doesn't really look like a mithra. He just kinda looks like a cat boy, but I guess that's his original design from someone else, so that's probably not your fault... :U
The mom doesn't look like a mom, she looks way too young. Maybe it's what she's wearing, I dunno. Her face is also way too young-looking.
The scenery is good, but it looks a little flat. I'd recommend maybe lowering the horizon a bit.
Other than that, the characters look pretty nice and the lighting is also good.

Yeah Camina IRL does kinda just look like a cat boy... but oh well! I coulda tried harder to make it look more... manthra... but there's not much to go off of except that really girly Lehko... So oh well, count my losses XD I agree though!
Yeah mom turned out young, some of it is the harness but some of it is definitely her body I think. I was trying to exaggerate it a bit to give it an... adventurer but older feeling, but it just came out looking like.. MAYBE in her late 20's at oldest? Which I guess could still be a mom but... maybe not for a kid that size.
Indeeeeeeeeeeed the scenery caused me some problems but I eventually just went with it, but I agree. I plan on doing much more work on scenery in the future!
