Description Yay! A good .mov version uploaded! Now I am happy ^^ I will move the old one to scraps....

Anyways, this is my Kona bunny walking... my 3rd ever frame by frame animation. I got a good grade in intro to animation class ^^ I'm really loving animation and will probably be doing a lot more with it as times move on!

I really hope you all enjoy this ^^ sorry it's so small... it's the first time ever that I've used After Effects, first time ever doing a full animation frame by frame on paper, and then scanning it to edit in photoshop and make look more smooth and clean... I will be trying a lot more techniques as I learn!

How did you make that? I done something similar like this before but it was on my old computer and I forgot how because I haven't plug it in yet.

I used layers to set up the movements of the foreground, background, and the character. The character is frame by frame animation looped. ;3 The layering I did in Adobe After effects but if you have flash or the newer photoshops I think you can do that as well. Im not too adapt at some of the new programs but Im learning them more as I continue my study as an animator. ^^

man, I've been animating walk cycles for three weeks straight, need to get city shots with pedestrians. keep it up, animation is a tough work, people underestimate it.

I also think it would help if you used a real 3D space instead of 'faking' the trees moving as it moves unnatural. maybe this will help [link]

keep practicing!

Thanks!! yeah it is ; ; still working a heck of a lot on it... but I'll get there, I hope UGH 3 weeks of walking cycles? Toughhh ><

If I could pull off a viable 3D space, I totally would. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out! I dont know quite yet how to make a "reasonable" one.. because I hate those movies that use 3D space with 2D characters, and you can TOTALLY tell it doesnt work well together... best example, Pokemon movies... >.> they've done a terrible job at it several times now >< lol.

... that was a random ramble. Sorry D: Anyways, thanks again!!

oh no don't get me wrong. usually 3D and 2D are mixed awfully because of visual differences, and I HATE it!
I was just pointing out a technique to drag 2D objects into a 3D space so your cameramovement is realistic and objects on the fore- and background move at the right speed to create the illusion of depth. (like your trees) it's an old trick they pulled off long before 3D excisted, fortunatly with After FX now it's very easy to do, and theres no more need to do it with the large tables and glass plates and whatnot... ^_^

the result you can get with these techniques keep a traditional drawn look, but uses some advantages of working with 3D. Look at Howl's Moving Castle for instance, lot of 3D, but very nicely integrated to keep the same look we're used to.

Needs more weight, right now looks like he's floating. After the front foot contacts (the frame after) drop the body a bit to show that his weight has been planted. After the other leg has been raised, raise the body up on the pass pose, showing the weight being brought back up. Nice on model drawings. Keep up the good work! Hope I've helped.

Loads under 5 seconds for me xD;

It does lag a bit, but when I watch it in High Quality it's a lot better (and bigger)

Looks great! Smooth animation. Great work Riniii

Sorry folks, looks like it does lag a bit when you hit play... but it looks a lot better than the old flash version I had! Sorry it takes so long to load too... I'm sure I will learn how to compress these a lot better in the future!!
