Yeah, sadly. It would be lovely, though. We already have Dark type, so why not an opposite to that? Since Psychic had been more geared towards Ghosts.

There had been speculation that Fairy was gonna be Light, which admittedly would've made more sense, since Light type has been begged for for quite a few gens. Just last gen, everyone was screaming about how Reshiram was undoubtedly the Light/Dragon and Zekrom was gonna be Dark/Dragon or Dark/Electric. Neither happened.
dang!!!! I would have preferred light over fairies any day! but I don't get it
how can a fairy be super effective against a dragon

I guess because of how fairytales are, with how faeries often represent goodness/aide, and dragons represent evil/destruction, and good must always conquer evil.
Although there are quite a few fairy-type Pokemon with hidden meanings. Spritzee a plague doctor, Slurpuff representing the deadly sin Gluttony, Sylveon being a vampire, and so on and so forth.

They have a move called "Draining Kiss" where they leech onto you and drain your life energy with a kiss. They have two fanged teeth that are shown often when they open their mouths, and the ribbons are actually ribbon-life feelers that they can control on their own, and, as shown in the anime, actually extend and make as long as they want, to over ten times their own body length! I couldn't believe it. It's amazing, but also very scary.

for some reason I stopped at about diamond(probably because that was when i started playing...took a while for my parents to get me one, them not liking the fact that video games were created and all)

Same thing happened to my sis when she was trying to get her 3DS. Seems like they're quite an issue to get ahold of through middle-men.
Gen V was good in the beginning, because Team Rocket was actually doing cool stuff again.
I don't know about later on in the show, because Iris was starting to annoy me, and Gen IV with Diamond and Pearl was actually where the anime was falling out because Dawn was just such a horrible character. xD And they had weird plot lines that didn't make sense at all. Moreso than usual, anyway.
I've heard rave reviews on the latest episodes with X&Y's Serena in them, but I can't give my honest opinion since I haven't seen them myself. Stopped around Gen IV myself except the beginning of V.

Then Cintiq is prolly the way to go for you. It's really expensive, but it's literally a monitor that's a tablet. a.k.a. you can draw on your screen!

If you want a screen tablet, look for something off-brand. Cintiq is just ridiculous expensive. My entire computer cost less.

Just do your best to keep practicing! It may not turn out the way you want it to the first few tries, or even the first few hundred, but just keep at it and in no time, you'll get used to it! It'll also be good to use the tablet in a way that you're comfortable traditionally drawing/writing, since that will make things flow far easier.
