Merry Christmas ladys and gentlemencare to see what I've prepared for you this evening
Anyway here's a quick gift for
As of the pic you've got Hawkeye's character Kyou (right) paired up with a sonic version of Kido (left)
(for thouse of you who don't remember him [link] )
I thought it was really funny how similar the two of them were, Kyou being based of Cerberus and Kido being a Hell hound (hopefully I'll be able to start working on the comic)
Even thier names are similar
I tried to add some extra perspective to the picture and the the speed lines to give it a more dynamic feel, which also made it seem alittle like a comic page

Well first off my first reaction was one of amazement at just the first impact of seeing the piece. Definitely left me with my mouth wide open and a slight feeling of, "I wouldn't want to pick a fight with these two!" Great first impression.
COLORING: Wicked coloring and a very nice technique. Wonderful use of tones to emphasize the fire effect and great dark shading use on the Soul Snakes and on Kido. Shading is nice, smooth and consistant.
COMPOSITION: Great composition! Excellent placement of the characters and great framing effect with the Soul Snakes. It's nice that the characters are breaking off the border as well, it fills out the picture better and helps balance out the fire effect so it doesn't look so empty. Perspective is over-emphasized but fits the piece well.
CHARACTERS/ANATOMY: Wonderful Sonic-style on Kido. The conversion looks great and fits him well. Kyou looks absolutely fantastic (I really wish I could draw him like that). He's been captured perfectly and all of the details (such as his facial markings) are all there. Wonderful expressions that fit the characters well. The anatomy on both characters looks great. Kyou's shoulder could be smoother but it's minor detail.
BACKGROUND: Not much of a distinct background, but for the perspective and the way the characters are filling up the piece it works well. Definitely was a good move to add the purple and white in the upper part. Very neutral so it blends in well and it provides great contrast for the fire and characters.
EFFECTS: Gorgeous fire effects. There's enough to provide dramatic impact but not so much that the characters are lost in it. Fire looks realistic enough and fits with the style.
POSSIBLE MEANS OF IMPROVEMENT: The only thing really noteworthy is a possible thicker lines with the parts of the body that are closer to the viewer. That provides a nice depth feel and helps emphasize the distance.
OVERALL IMPACT: Great overall impact. Eye-catching and absolutely gorgeous style and work. Nice vision of two fire wielding creatures posing together with a show of power. Well done!

Actually this one was done with GIMP
but I got a tablet for Christmas so I'll probably be using Photoshop more often from now on

Lately I've been watching an anime called Desert Punk
where they use white speed lines in alot of the sceens
so I'm thinking that's where the idea came form
