Himeji Castle! We went down for a day trip to Himeji from where we were staying in Osaka. It's a really lovely place; the castle is very pretty. Unlike most of the castles in Japan these days, this one somehow managed to not be burnt to the ground, blown apart in a typhoon or broken up by an earthquake (quite a feat, I believe), so the building is very much like how it would have been many hundreds of years ago.Related content

Himeji Castle is actually cooler than Osaka Castle.

If I ever get to visit that part of Japan, I definitely want to see Himeji Castle. As you said, not many of the old Feudal Era shiros left anymore.

So, true what you said -_- Its so sad that suck wonderful works of design on these houses and buildings and castles in Japan get ruined by their Earth Quicks. I've never been there, but Osaka is a lovely place... No idea why I didn't go visit this place while I had the chance.
