Shirts, prints etc available on RedBubble!I painted a horse skull for practise, then thought I'd have a go at usingΒ depthy.me/ to paint a depth map. I've got to admit, that little bit of 3Dness that it adds is pretty neat! You can see a higher quality interactive version here .

Pretty awesome! At first I thought it was a reference to one of H. P. Lovecraft's stories but there's no coral snake crawling out of it. I'm forever going to picture this image whenever I reread that story though. It's adds to the creepiness. π

Excellent depth. I was a little nervous approaching Depthy, but seeing the grayscale levels painting gave me a bunch of confidence.

You only need a static image to work from, than you paint a depth map. If you go toΒ depthy.me/ they have an online depth map painting tool, all you have to do is paint the picture with shades from black to white over what is closest to furthest away in your picture. The website then uses the depth map to add a parallax like distortion over the image.Β
