Description Instead of just sitting around
and looking down on tomorrow
You gotta let your feet off the ground,
the time is now…
I’m waiting…waiting outside the lines

a photo i took yesterday at a local western show. i liked this horse a lot but i felt sry for her at the same time because her rider didn't look like a nice person at all... maybe i was wrong about it, but my friend had the same feeling, too. anyways - i hope you enjoy this!

I can tell you the girl didn't care too much for her horse.
I show in western classes, an you have to shave the whiskers off their nose and round their eye so it shows off the horses face.
In your wonderful picture, you can see she didn't do that.
I take great pride in my horses an would never neglect some thing so simple that makes them look that much better.

thank you very much for taking time to comment! i was wondering about the whiskers, too since i took a lot of pictures on this day and in none it is that visible.. i do ride western, too and even if my boy isn't going to shows or isn't doing some high western lessons (he's more a trail horse) he doesn't have it that long. i don't want to say her owner doesn't care for her but idk there was something about her i immediately didn't like (like last year as well) and sth about this mare i liked immediately... you could see she was trying her heart out!

I ride in big shows for AQHA, and some thing that simple being missed, to me it just says she couldn't careless.
Witch is rather sad. The whole point of showing is to SHOWOFF.
But yes it's a really nice picture, you can see little details like that, also I couldn't help but notice, her bands weren't laying flat. Either the girl was having a bad day or she didn't care.

yeah it is sad..idk why people are the way they are sometimes. bad thing is they mostly have awesome horses or animals in general while i just stand there wishing i could see my horse more than every once in a while

Beautiful shot. I really like the emotion you captured in the horse's eye.

Yeah.... If only we knew! Though, I'm sure I wouldn't want to know what my mare is thinking sometimes. she's pretty testy...xD

haha yeah ... sometimes i used to ride a horse called "Luca" for a few weeks i bet i don't wanna know what he thought just as much as i would bet that he wouldn't want to really understand what i was saying (i was swearing so much since he can be sooo stubborn) we just didn't match. in the pasture he always stopped by to play or say hi..but i'm pretty sure we were both happy that we didn't work together anymore i prefer riding geldings... among all the mares i rode there was one i loved to bits but the rest were really challenging so i get your point xD

Hahaha!! I know that! My mare could probs outswear me now...xD But I love her to bits. I only have one gelding, all the rest of my horses are mares. But the one I have the most...."challenge" with has enough estrogen for 25 mares...>.< I'm pretty sure my other mares gave theirs to her, they act like geldings... Lol. But they sure are fun.

i bet they are! how many horses do you have?
this one mare i loved to ride was called to be "though" and sometimes even "evil" but idk... everytime someone says: this horse is hard to take or sth like that i fall in love with them crazy me O.o i don't see them as hard to ride..i take them for what they are and spend some time to figure them out. i don't have to jump or fully galopp a horse the first time i ride it. the gelding that took and owns my horse is known to have a horrible trot; i don't mind anymore i got used to it. i know he can be stubborn as an armor from time to time but honestly: who isn't? xD

Wayyy too many xD We have 15 on our property and then some more on another property.

I'm the same way! Not every horse is meant for every rider, but if you try hard enough and the right way, you can usually figure them out. It's more about learning to work with the horse gradually.

Lucky you! plus, i totally agree with your statement about learning!

They are so much work. But they are more than worth it.
That's what it comes down to for me. If I'm learning, I'm automatically going to be having fun.

Nice photo. The horse looks kind of sad. Like she is trying realy hard but never can please her owner or the people around. Good photo!
