Description [ or·rer·y
/ˈôrərē/

:a mechanical model of the solar system, or of just the sun, earth, and moon, used to represent their relative positions and motions. ]

I've been obsessing over the heavens lately. I've bought a new telescope and have been having a blast staring off into space, and I guess you could say I got a little inspired. I already began welding bases and crafting real moving orreries, but amongst my crafts I decided to start making jewelry again. And in what better way than making my own inprired miniature planetariums.

This pendant's design is based off antique Orrery machines that were used to track the celestial planets. This elegant astronomical inspired piece is made of brass and copper. Small, metal gears are scattered throughout the pendant and one large one creates the back of the locket as well. Small beautiful Planets (made from Blue Moon beads) map a personal planetarium to the stars. A glass pane encases the upper locket, allowing the miniature Orrery to always be seen within the Pendant.  Smaller wired beads orbit the inner.

This locket is for sale, as will be others like it.
