I can actually see enough now to type!!I've been wanting to attempt this drawing as a tattoo for a long time now. I'm glad I waited this long to do it because my tattooing wasn't ready for it a few years ago. I like the intricate stuff now that I used to stay away from for so long because I wasn't ready enough for it, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I did my best to keep this tattoo true to the original with all the tiny lines that Escher used as shading, The 3D pieces in the film part too. The ants were pretty tough too with the little legs sticking out from underneath and stuff. I like reproducing other artists masterpieces to see if I can pull it off or not. Who knows, in 10 years from now I might try this one again just to see the difference.

I noticed that when I looked at the pics. It has a head but there's 2 pieces missing. I'll get it in the touch ups. The stencil was hard on the head with all those lines

and i definitely get the simplified version of it. It's still a tattoo, you want it to look good now and 10 years from now. Putting every little thing in there would make it into more of a muddled mess

I actually had to leave some stuff out of it that I wished I could put in, but cuz of the size it would have made it too cluttered and hard to make out. So instead of tangling it more, I simplified as little as I could get away with.
