Thanks! I found out about the contest only a few hours before it closed. So I had to think and work fast. I didn't want to go with the typical recast using modern actors. Ian Flemming always wanted Cary Grant to play Bond. I started with him. I picked the lady second. Lauren Bacall in her early years was the essence of femme fatale.I could not decide between Edward G. Robinson or Orson Welles for Goldfinger. I decided on Welles because of his charm. If Bond had to meet his match it would not be a challenge to defeat an obviously evil enemy. An enemy with a charm that is equal to Bond's would make 007's mission more difficult.

Cool. One thing, though. Ian Fleming didn't start writing the Bond novels and stories until the 1950s.

This was an entry in a contest. The theme was to revamp the Bond movies so I decided to set the movie in an earlier decade.

I think it's cool. Cary Grant was Ian Fleming's choice, you know. Peter Lorre would've been great as Oddjob. Check this out. I didn't know about the contest. I just did it for fun. [link]
