i have the same camera but i doubt i'd still be able to find cheap films for them. so i guess i'll buy a new one already. i might buy instax instead of polaroid :3

You should check out The Impossible Project. They're the only guys left who still make Polaroid film for older models. I've checked, and they do make film that will work with the 636 Close-up you have there.

I bought a really old one at a garage sale at my church for $2 and got two packs of polaroid film free!
almost got an old electric guitar for $3
