Description
For the first challenge of the season, Facewash decides to make some custom-made coins, one side representing the heroes and the other side representing the villains.
Here's how she makes them...
The number below corresponds to the number in the top-left corner of the screen.
1)
Facewash collects wood by cutting down a tree in a forest.
2)
When she gets back she places some of the wood she collected into a furnace, which will be used a fuel, throughout the challenge.
3)
She then heads off to the scrapyard to collect a few pieces of metal that she can use.
4)
When she comes back from the scrapyard, she lights the furnace using a match.
5)
She then places some of the metal she collected into a foundry then sets it into the furnace, which will melt the metals so she can cast them.
6)
Then she closes the furnace to trap the heat, thus increasing the temperature inside the furnace.
7)
While she's waiting for the scrap metals to melt, she starts preparing the wood. First, she cuts a log in half using a bow saw.
8)
Then she cuts one of the halves into six thin planks.
9)
Finally, using a pick saw, she cuts four circles all the way through 6 planks.
10)
The result is 24 small cylinders, which will be used to make the custom coins.
11)
At this point the scrap metals should've melted, so she opens the furnace and takes the foundry out of the furnace.
12)
Then she pours the liquid metal into a flat cast.
13)
When she finishes pouring, the liquid metal takes up most of the cast.
14)
While she's waiting for the metal to cool into a solid, she dumps all the wooden-coins into a gold paint bucket.
15)
All 24 coins fit in the bucket, quite nicely.
16 - 18)
Now that the metal has cooled into a solid sheet, she draws the design for the front and back of the coin onto the sheet. She also outlines two poles on the right side of the sheet.
19 - 20)
Then she takes a metal cutting saw and cuts out the two designs and poles.
<
21 - 22)
Then she welds the designs and poles together to make two branding irons. Which she can now use to imprint designs onto the coins.
23)
However, before she can brand the coins, she has to heat the irons first. This time she leaves the furnace open, allowing some heat to escape. This way, the branding irons aren't exposed to the same high temperatures that caused the scrap metals to melt, allowing them to stay intact.
24 - 25)
While waiting for the branding irons to heat up, she grabs a sifter and dumps the contents of the paint bucket into it.
26)
This places the, now gold-colored, coins into the sifter, while sifting the paint out. Now they look more like actual coins.
27 - 30)
Finally, she grabs a hot branding iron and one of the gold coins, and imprints the hero's design onto it.
31 - 34)
Then she flips the coin over and imprints the villain's design onto it.
35)
She then brands the other 23 coins.
36
After all that she's done with her prize!
So what do the design's represent?
The two designs represent the two styles of strategy. One that typically characterizes both a hero and a villain.
The hero design is two swords cross together, representing the more honest gameplay of heroes. The two swords symbolize how they form mutually beneficial alliances, bound by trust and loyalty. This metaphorical alliance is so strong, the swords form one cohesive unit, without any dividing lines.
Meanwhile, the villain design is a single blood-stained sword, representing the sketchy gameplay of villains. The blood-stained sword symbolizes the betrayal of alliance members, the blood coming from the metaphorical backs they stab.
