DESCRIPTION & FEATURES
This is a customizable dark elf / drow female base for MMD. Although it's based on my Caprica Six v2.061 Base , it has its own specific features, mostly controlled by sliders/morphs at MMD rendertime.
The base model is provided WITHOUT hair and naked, even if the package contains the corset shown in the preview image, as a bonus content (it has been used here just to avoid stupid dramas about nudity... it's a base, it's obviously naked!). Using the provided sliders/morphs you can get almost infinite combinations, matching your preferred style of drawing dark elves. Also a few alternate textures are provided with the package but in this case you have to replace them in PMX Editor, before loading the model in MMD. I provide also a generic monochromatic/white hair texture useful for any hair model based on straight vertical strands.
Skin presets
By default the skin is a classic full black with a soft dark purple shine, as in most popular representations of the Drows living in the Underdark. The skin controller sliders are divided into 2 parts. The first sliders allow you to freely manage the color combinations, working on independent RGB and brightness/Darkness sliders. The second ones are some pre-built race presets, trying to match some popular ways of representing the Drows/Dark Elves. I've shown them on the preview image, left to right:
1) Classic Forgotten Realms drow (default)
2) Good old styled representation of Drows on R.A. Salvatore's novels books
3) Records of Lodoss Wars anime series (Pirotess like)
4) Vails race from Shaiya mmorpg
5) Dark elves from Lineage game series
6) Night Elves from World of Warcraft mmorpg
7, 8, 9) Tan, Purple, and Grey dark elves from Shabazik 's World-of-Aiers fantasy/sci-fi setting
10) Ghost dark elves, still from World of Aiers (actually the result is a combination of "Ghost" slider" and brightness slider)
Note that combining the sliders and playing with brightness, shiny and RGB control sliders you can get even standard light elves, red daemons looking as elves and so on
There are also additional sliders affecting not only the skin but the whole model, in case you need to disable the spa/sph textures, or toons, or ambient color. I've even added an all-in-one slider which disables any material setting that could conflict with RayMMD. All these sliders affect the whole model, so they'll affect also any part/clothing, accessory/hair you'll add to the base.
Eyes presets
By default the irises are red as in classic Drows, but there are 15 alternate iris color. They're the same existing in my C6V2 base, but they have been reordered, having the most common colors for dark elves first (i.e. violet, purple, green, amber, gray...). Also in this case you have enough choices to make even surface light elves
Ears presets
The default ears are almost like in humans, just pointed, but I've provided 4 morph sliders to match other popular ears settings. You can apply one of them or play mixing them.
NOTE ABOUT THE SIZE
The package contains THREE different sizes: Tall, medium and small. Dark elves (and in particular traditional drows) are normally considered smaller than a standard human.
If you need to stay "lore-friendly" with most popular fantasy settings you're suggested to use the medium or the small sized bases. Their height is set on about 160 cm / 5'3" (which would represent a tall traditional drow) for the medium sized one, and on about 130 cm / 4'3" (which would represent a small drow, small even for drow standards... let's say like Triel Baenre). The defaul tall model is set on about 180 cm / 5'11" (which could match settings where drows and elves are not smaller than humans).
If you need to convert parts and switch them between the sizes, here's the reference values to use:
Tall to Medium -> x0.888 ratio
Tall to Small -> x0.722 ratio
Medium to Small -> x0.8125 ratio
Medium to Tall -> x1.125 ratio
Small to Medium -> x1.231 ratio
Small to Tall -> x1.385 ratio
