Description Time: some day near the end of the Rebellion of Clones Wars (3428-3434 a.a.H.)
Location: a secret base, on the Sharzi-Ra 372µ asteroid, orbiting in an unhabitated system around a red dwarf star, near the border between the Devart Sector and the Pross Space
The base and its facilities, including a small shipyard, had been temporarily occupied by a Rebel clones faction, later known as KSM

---

From the secret archives of the Korryn Shiks Matriarchy, Korryn II:
Evacuation of the asteroid Sharzi-Ra 372µ (year 3434 a.a.H.). A key episode in the Independence War which later allowed the founders to set the Korryn Shiks Matriarchy as an independent nation. Sharzi-Ra 372µ was a metallic asteroid orbiting the red dwarf [omissis], close to the borderspace of the Devart Sector. Previously settled by a CON.MI. mining outpost, it was later abandoned during the very first phases of the Rebellion of Clones wars, and the occupied in 3431 a.a.H. by the KSM rebel faction and used both as a refuge and as a shipyard where the starships captured or gained by the KSM forces could be repaired, hacked or modified. Near the end of the Clones rebellions, WK Corporation launched a wide range operation near the borders of the Devart Sector to "clean" the remaining rebel forces in that area of the Nebulosa, counting on the silent approval of the other megacorporations which well knew the nasty reputation of WK Corp. During this series of attacks on rebel outposts and bases, WK Corp gained intel about the base set on the Sharzi-Ra 372µ asteroid. The sudden attack was barely opposed by the KSM rebels, thanks to the capture of an intruder, charged of the sabotage of the shipyard, in order to prevent any retreat of the rebel forces.
The rebels managed to evacuate the base, but paid a high cost in lives. Out of 592 artificial humans hosted by the base, only 394 survived and managed to evacuate aboard the Korsar Class Fast Attack Cruiser later named "Avenger" and its support gunships. Luckily no useful data was found by WK Corp during the inspection after the purge, thanks to the sacrifice of the clones who fought hard to allow their comrades to evacuate and finally destroyed all the data centers of the base before that the enemy could put their hands on. The 198 official victims of the battle were later appointed as war heroines by the Matriarchy.
Despite the huge losses, the evacuation is generally considered as a success, if not a victory. It's generally assumed that a fail during the evacuation would have sensibly weakened the KSM forces and would have probably denied them the chance to negotiate a truce, and later a treaty, with Kasparov Cia and the other megacorporations, keeping their independence intact.
Lady commander Vanya "Scarlet" Smyrnova, was later involved in the reform which created the new army of the Matriarchy, she was promoted to the rank of colonel and got the command of the KCFAC Avenger. Her further carrier was [omissis]...

---

The door in the command center opened and a man, handcuffed and held by two armed shiks, was rudely dragged inside.

- «Is it him?» the lady commander Vanya Scarlet Smyrnova asked the two guards, turning to the prisoner and briefly looking at him. Her codename, Scarlet, was due to her impressive scarlet hair and her even more impressive red eyes, which immediately designated her for what she was: a Dreselandesa class clone. At the moment, her impressive scarlet eyes, anyway, were pointed at the prisoner. The intruder had a nasty bruise over the right eye, where he had probably been beaten, at the time of capure, but he looked good: he was probably in his thirties (maybe even younger), well muscled and - Vanya guessed, noticing the way the man had quickly studied the room as soon as he entered - well trained. A professional, no doubt. More, her scanners revealed that the man was a biologic human, not a clone. Well, at least he was born "naturally" although it was still very likely that he had some cloned ancestors, as most of the supposed "biologic humans" in the Nebula.

- «Aye, Vanya, it's him.» the first armed girl answered informally. Despite Vanya was the lady commander of the base, and a Dreselandesa class clone, the rebellion had someway softened all hierarchies and formalities, at least when they weren't strictly required. Both the armed girls belonged to the Jako class family of clones, with their typical messy golden hair, pale skins and intense lightblue eyes. Standard Jako shiks, both produced by the Kasparov Cia megacorporation. Actually Mom Kassy had produced most of the rebel clones operating in that base, including Vanya.
The second armed shik added in annoyed tone of voice «He's disarmed, now. We busted him lingering near the control room in the shipyard hangar. So we checked... and found two sisters of ours.» she hesitated before adding, speaking lower «Both dead. The command panel has been tampered by this asshole, and the main hangar doors cannot open, at the moment. They seem to be blocked by a virus in the software. The technical squad is investigating right now to solve the problem.»

Vanya, still looking at the prisoner, frowned when the man had a brief grin, hearing about the hangar doors. The two dead jakos were a serious matter enough, but she had all the needed time to investigate about that. The blocked hangar doors were a completely different, and more serious, urgent matter. A blocked hangar would have meant no chance to take off in case of emergency, and a lot of unwanted losses of time along their plans to recover and make completely operative the fast attack cruiser they had stolen a few months before.

- «Is it all OK with the cruiser?» she asked the two girls. She didn't care of the prisoner listening about the stolen cruiser. He was anyway condemned.

Both shiks nodded «Yes. Its systems are well isolated and not connected to any external server, madam. The crew is checking the systems, anyway. Just to be sure.».
Vanya mumbled something and nodded, then she moved her attention on the prisoner again.

- «What the hell were you doing there?» she asked coldly, approaching him and stopping right in front of the man, her gloved hands on the hips.
The man just glowered at her, silent.

- «Answer me!» she shouted, delivering a violent punch in the prisoner's stomach. Although the man was blocked on both sides, he managed in tightening his abdominal muscles and moving a little back, enough to absorb part of the impact with no damage. However he grunted and felt a vivid wave of pain in the middle of his chest. Vanya was a perfectly trained corporate assassin, before joining the rebellion, and her hand-to-hand combat skills and strenght were considerable. Aside her (mind conditioned) "training", absorbed from the conditioning process in the Cloning Vats, she already had a lot of real experience on the field, after a lot of successful missions before the rebellion and after 5 years of war. In a word, being punched hard by her was anything but an enjoyable treatment, muscles or not.

- «You'll have to do much better than this, you stupid cloned bitch...» he venomously whispered through the teeth, giving her a challenging look and breathing deep right after that the first wave of pain at the chest had passed. Vanya raised an eyebrow. Is he trying to provoke me, so that I kill him before that I can interrogate him? Seriously? Does he believe that I'm such an idiot? she wondered.

«Oh-oooh. Nice abs, you have, here. Really.» she said, calmly, approaching him. Her nose almost grazed his one, while she seductively tittillated his abs with a finger. «I like your strong abs, guy.»
Still smiling, she suddenly shoot her knee up, violently striking him under the genitals and squashing his testicles hard.
Popping his eyes out, and bending forward, the man grunted a muffled groan; his face went first pale, then gray, while he could barely resist before vomiting. Or fainting. Or both. He would have surely fallen down on his knees, if the two shiks on his sides hadn't blocked him by the arms, preventing him to collapse on the ground.

- «Was that better enough?» Vanya asked him, sarchastic, looking at his painful - actually, almost comical - expression, but she didn't even give him the chance to answer, or to recover, because she rudely drew him up by the collar and she hit him again, with a second hard punch, straight in the stomach pit.
This time the prisoner wasn't able at all to tighten his abs, due to the terrific waves of pain spreading up from his groin and already almost prevented him to breath.
Having lots of fun, the two armed shiks kept him firmly held and blocked, allowing Vanya to punch him again, and again, and again; while after every furious punch, all the residual traces of air, and boldness, were forcedly ripped out of the prisoner's lungs.

- «Leave him, you two.» Vanya said with nonchalance, after the last punch, which had sank into his stomach finding no resistance. And finding no more air - or boldness - to be squeezed out of his belly.
As soon as the two girls left him free, the prisoner collapsed forward on the knees, gasping for breath and with some long slobber dangling out of his open mouth. Vanya put her hair fix, then she pushed her sole on the prisoner's shoulder and rudely forced him to roll on his flank.

Staring down at him from above with the arms folded on her breasts, she coldly told him «Let's start again from the beginning. Who are you? And why did you sabotage the hangar doors?» she asked in a glacial tone of voice.
She menacingly moved her leg back, like if she was ready to kick the man. Scared, the prisoner gasped and weakly raised a hand to beg her.
Vanya smiled and didn't kick him, but she approached him and she stomped her heel over his sternum, pinning his back on the floor. She would have needed only to push the heel deep on his solar plexus, and he would have suffered the pains of hell. «Who are you - and why did you sabotage our hangar doors?» she had repeated the question.

Moaning and struggling to get his breath back, the prisoner confusedly mumbled «WK... Corporation» a deep moan, as Vanya had instinctively reacted to that name pushing her heel on his sternum. The man coughed and hurried to add, breathless «We... they... 're attacking... a in few minutes... I... I had... to pre-prevent... you... to flee... hangar... closed...» he was going purplish in face due to the lack of breath, and weakly tried to put a hand on her ankle and pull it away, but he hadn't the strenght to. He burped a groan, feeling an acid flow of vomit raising from deep in his throat.

- «WHEN?! HOW MANY OF YOU BASTARDS ARE COMING?» Vanya, pale, shouted at him, cruelly sticking and pushing the heel of the boot into his sternum

The prisoner gasped and popped his eyes out, while trying to resist the pain, if he had could, he would have  curled into fetal position, but his abdominal muscles couldn't even respond, due to the hard treatment he had undergone shortly before «A... fu-... full... attack force ... bo-both ... human... troopers... a-and... co-composites... also... droids. Wa.. walkers... mechs... eight heavy transports... ugh!... a squadron of fi- ... fighters... and bombers. It's... it's a... a search-n-de... destroy op... -era ... -tionhhh... no witnesses... no survivors...  we.... we...» the man seemed to add something else, but under the painful crush of her heel stuck deep into his solar plexus he finally lost consciousness, overwhelmed by an unbearable wave of pain exploded by the sternum.

Vanya cursed, disgusted, and feeling a deep void in her stomach in front of the idea of such a strong and wide attack incoming. As rebels, they had got many successes, but never by facing the enemies in open battles, and even least of all when they were so evidently outnumbered.
More, out of all their enemies, the WK.Corp bastards were likely the worst ones. Their composite and android fighters were hard and merciless opponents, and their bio-human masters were even worse. Their cruel practices against any captured prisoner were well known.

Anyway she knew all what she needed to, by now. Speaking about captured prisoners, she had by now no more use for the fainted idiot sleeping at her feet.
She scarcely bothered to look at him, raised her knee and, without any remorse, she violently lunged her leg down, and dug the heel of the boot deep into his throat, piercing fleshes and cartilages with a revolting flaccid sound. The man, dying, gurgled and spit a gush of blood from the mouth.
She finally retracted the heel like if she should have extracted a dagger from the stomach of a just stabbed man, and hastily cleaned it on his clothes, while a blood splash was slowly enlarging under the prisoner's corpse.

- «Leave this sack of shit here, you two, and get your weapons!» then she ordered, and hurrily switched on the communications system «To all the personell, I repeat, to all the personell: Immediate emergency evacuation order! Execute Plan R, say again, execute plan R! Equip the oxygen masks immediately in case of any break into of the vital support of the base. Red squad and Blue squad: protect the hallways to the hangars, for a safe evacuation. Copper squad and Gold squad, jump aboard your gunships, take off and protect the perimeter, at all costs! We need the time to get those fucking hangar doors opened. All the others: destroy all datacenters, evacuate as quickly as possible to the hangar, and board the cruiser.»
Soaking wet due to the tension, Vanya then quickly switched to a second communication channel «Hangar, lady commander Smyrnova speaking. Set the Cruiser in alert condition one, and initialize the engines! General emergency evacuation, all the crew to battle stations and ready to take off in 10 minutes, as soon as the technicians can open the doors again!», closing the communication, she cursed again and rudely slammed the commlink on the panel. One precious minute had already passed.

- «Let's go, go!» she yelled toward her remaining sisters in the command center and pointing the index at the servers «You two, take your grenades and let's burn this place before we flee!» she said, taking her weapons and preparing to exit. To set a good example - and due to self conservation - she first hurried to wear her breathing mask.
A second later, all the alert systems of the base had started sounding.
The enemy was already there, and they could see the enemies approaching the base by the radar projections on the screens, while they were arming the incendiary grenades.
- «Holy shit! We don't even have the ten fucking minutes!» she cursed  «Fire, fire now!» she ordered, as soon as she was safe beyond the door.
Her comrades launched their grenades inside the control room, and after the explosions, they ran along the corridor to reach the safety path for evacuation.

While running Vanya had got at least the satisfaction to see all her comrades doing exactly what she had ordered to, according to the emergency plans they had already set in advance. They were rebels, yes, but they weren't yet another naive herd of carefree shiks, singing their flowery slogans, whining for their poor violated rights and gaily demonstrating in front of some megacorporation, only to be attacked and slaughtered like pigs in butchering by some shitty mercenary company hired by the corporations: they all were tough and trained combatants, even their jako shiks. They knew very well the value of discipline and cold blood at war time.

- «Vanya. The Red and the Blue squads won't make it. The can't make it. Look there...» Tamara Ranykova, her second in command, whispered in a worried, tormented tone of voice, when they stopped near a secondary control room, to help another group to destroy their datacenters.
They had the chance to give another look at the monitors, and Vanya immediately understood what her second in command was saying. Several new blinking red squares were mercilessly showing the enemy forces, already surrounding the base and were already attacking the perimetral stations. Two checkpoints had been already overwhelmed and the enemies could have entered the base itself at any time.

- «I know, damn it.» Vanya admitted through her clenched teeth «But it's our only chance to survive, today. We'll cry for our losses, and plan the revenge tomorrow. Today we still have to save the day; and our asses as well.» she added, trying to keep her voice firm and confident.
By ordering the Blue and the Red squads to cover their retreat, she had probably sentenced them to death. Even supposing the Cruiser could take off in ten minutes (and she actually doubted about that optimistic forecast), even supposing that the technicians managed in unlocking the hangar doors, and even supposing that the cruiser could resist the impact against an eventual siege fleet, detached all around the asteroid... those squads couldn't absolutely retreat toward the hangars with so many enemies pursuing and pressing them from the back.
She would have to abandon them to death: the WK forces were notorius for taking no prisoners (or taking prisoners only to have some fun, before killing them). Well, all our girls know the enemy and they know what to do: no surrender, fight until death, or commit suicide rather than being captured alive she thought, with a grim expression on her face.
It had been a difficult decision, but that was the price of command. Still, the girls she had sentenced to death, to grant the survival of the most, were her sisters in arms. Even the jakos. It had been a painful decision too, but it had to be taken. That, or death.

The explosions of the last servers had recalled her attention on the present «Ok. Let's go, for now. But we'll get a revenge, for all this. I swear it.» Vanya promised, then she and her companions continued the evacuation.
