It's rather easy to be cruel and hateful when there's nothing left of what you loved or created. Most of the Scoia'tael members lost their pride, their loved ones and everything the built during their whole life. Now they are avenging - mostly on the weak and innocent because there's not enough of them to start an actual war. Maybe it truly seems heartless - killing peasants, civilians, kids lost in the woods. But honestly - would you just move on after watching your wife and kids burned alive? Would go on with a rape or a false imprisonment with a constant oppression, reminders of non-humans being less than an ordinary human citizen? Cause I wouldn't...

This particular photo started as a simple shoot during filming a Czech Witcher-themed LARP called "The Pathways of Death: Nilfgaardian sun" (and you can find it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pj8cGa… ) but ended up being one of the best depictions of our commando
