okay darling, first off i think your piece is a little cute, but not my taste of art. the curly que toes are my favorite, really. and secondly, i'm sorry that there was a million posts arguing on whether or not the comments were rude or non-constructive. i do hope that it didn't ruin the DD for you. I'm just about to head off to your gallery to see more of your work. Congratulations on the DD, sweetheart.

Wow! I had no idea I'd spark such a controversy when I posted this image.
I do appreciate all the comments, since I'm always trying to grow and evolve as an artist, but I'd just like to reiterate that I have nothing at all to do with which pieces are chosen for DDs. It's perfectly fine if you don't think I deserved it, but just remember that it was based on another person's opinion.
I do think it's particularly naive to judge a piece of artwork based on how much time it takes to complete. I've spent months to complete absolute rubbish, and I've spent minutes to create some of my favorite pieces.
I find that in any artist's body of work it is the ideas that are more important than the time spent on execution. Sure I could have done a Mondrian piece like [link] or a Picasso piece like [link] in a short amount of time, but I didn't and they did. That's not to say that the idea behind my work is particularly breathtaking either. It's just an idea I liked, so I created it, and then I put it up here to share.
And I'm happy I did share it, because I'm happy so many of you like it.

I like the delicate shading of the legs, and how simple the shapes are and how mute the colours are.
As a daily feature, I dunno about that. I enjoy this more than I usually enjoy vectors so excellent.

You did get an achievement, the coveted llama badge, even though I think they should put cookies up there too because WHO doesn't love a good cookie/biscuit, or whatever we're calling them.
Yeah, the article was all meant in good fun and indeed to stir the pot a little. It sparked rather lively and honest to goodness mature debate. Color me shocked! I do appreciate every comment I got, and I think I've finally replied to ALMOST every one.
So, the moral of the story is that you pretty much rock in my book. *two thumbs WAY up!*

Oh goodness! I'm sure you're getting quite a mixture of different comments on this one, both positive and negative.
At first glance, truthfully, the work didn't look very 'outstanding' or anything of the sort, but when I clicked full-view, I was quite surprised. The simple poses of the Fuzzy are very...original! Not only that, but it's quite detailed and very arty. You can almost see it as an animation!
I really enjoy this piece because you can see it simply, but you can look closer and see that it's really quite a 'complicated' deviation-artwork. I'm really glad I got to see this, today! It certainly made me smile. I especially love how you slightly shaded it's limbs. It just shines brilliance.

It's nice, well executed, and the character is cute in a rather odd way....but it almost feels as if this would be more efficient and even more interesting if this was a character that you did a series about, not just this one piece. Having only one piece with this dust bunny ballerina in your entire gallery feels a tad disjoint, yet it feels as if it could have a tremendous amount of potential as a series.

Think long and hard about this one, would you really read a series about a dust bunny ballerina? I mean, if you had things to do, not just if you randomly stumbled across one. Would you go out of your way to read such a series? I wouldn't. This is fine as a single piece as it gets the idea across, much more would just be kind of pointless. What does a dancing dust bunny bring to the table that nothing else would? The simplicity and absurdity of this comic would be lost in a larger series.

Anyway, I prefer to say I chose the one that might generate some discussion. Commenting on someone saying something like "omigosh this is the best thing i've ever seen" or (even worse) "lol this sux how did this even get a DD" would just be a waste of my time.
