So I just wanted to sketch Sans and began wondering what he'd look like if he didn't have to smile all the time. This happened.I know that in plenty of fanart Sans isn't smiling, but in my headcanon, he'd have to be really really upset in order to turn that smile upside down. Heck, the only time his expression really changes in the game is when...err, well, spoilers.
But yeah...I think his only genuine smiles are when he looks at Papyrus, since his bro really is the only person he seems to truly admire and look up to (...pun intended XD).
Anyway, yay for doodles.

Euugh, I don't remember when he changes his expression and I've looked through three playthroughs both pacsifist and genocide, can someone label as spoilers and tell me? >.<

During the pacifist run, while everyone is having their "little pow-wow" as Flowey calls it,
Alphys says "Papyrus, how did you know to call everyone here?", to which he replies, "LET'S JUST SAY..."
"...A TINY FLOWER TOLD ME!"
Alphys, terrified, says, "A.. Tiny.. Flower...?"
And just after that, green vines appear on the screen, and wrap everyone up.

Asgore gives up,
Undyne is enraged,
Toriel looks distraught,
Alphys is horrified, and looks incredibly guilty,
Papyrus looks distressed,
and Sans's smile is very slightly different.
The corners of his smile, at the very top, have been cut off.

God I wish I could draw Sans like that.. where did you learn how to draw him? Or did you just.. draw him? XD Welp, the reason he smiles so much, and is hardly ever sad, is because nothing gets under his skin! (pun intended XD )

I love the way you draw San's actually a bit more thin and taller, just kinda makes more sense for a skeleton but I never saw him exactly as small as Frisk lol. Still though, it's actually good to see him frown... He always seems so unhappy on the inside and I feel his smile is fake 90% of the time. To see you sketch the way he might look if he wasn't always face straining is nice. xD (Smiles for Pap though! ;3; )
