I don't know if this is intentional, but I get the feeling that diamond is the real Gigan heading to Earth after the cockroach aliens discover the ruse.
Like, I can practically hear some dubbed JSDF guy or something yell out, "Oh! What's that?!" Right before cutting to Gigan's stock footage appearance.
